Not designed to learn the language, only for learning vocabulary. If you think you'll be able to converse in Russian after these tapes, you won't. There's no grammar, or anything like that. Although, that's not a bad thing! It's fun when going through a book-based course and saying "Hey, I already know that word!". It's a good supplement to a book-based course. It's been helpful to me because when I study using other methods, it's always good to have a few less words to memorize. It's a little boring just hearing "word - translation - word - translation", but the music makes it a little more tolerable. It's a helpful program, and with so many words, I think I'll be using it for a long time.

These tapes are an excellent tool to improve the language skills both for those who speak Russian and learn English as well as native English speakers who struggle to succeed in Russian. The best way to increase the vocabulary. If you are looking for the grammar drills these tapes are not for you.
